FAQs

1) What is Game Quest Camp?

GameQuest is a day/overnight 5 day camp the week of July 12-16 on the UCCS campus. Students staying overnight will be chaperoned in the dorms on the campus and have a host of fun activies planned every evening!

2) Who can attend GameQuest Camp?

Any child ages 11-14.

2) What will the students Learn?

The camp will cover an introduction to the entire product design process focusing on the board game and toy industry. The concepts of brainstorming, prototyping, intellectual property, testing, manufacturing and the business side will all be covered with interactive activities. Each student will create their own game as we walk through the process getting their own custom FDM plastic part at the end made on the MIND Studios 3D Printer.

3) Who will be running the camp?

GameQuest is a joint venture between CSTEME (Colorado Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics Education) and MIND Studios. The students will learn from UCCS faculty and staff with backgrounds in engineering, product design, and business. Please see the "Desginer Bios' page for more information on the MIND Studios staff.

4) Will meals be provided

Students can bring their own lunch every day or bring money to buy lunch at the UCCS food court which has a variety of food options: pizza, mexican, asian, sandwiches, and salads.
