FDM 3000

The FDM 3000 is a Fused Deposition Modelling rapid prototyping machine.  Essentially this device is a 3D printer capable of producing parts up to 9" x 9" x 12" in size.  The machine can take any 3D CAD file and produce the part in real ABS plastic with a tolerance of .005 inches. This form of rapid prototyping technology has the advantage of producing parts that are not only demonstratable but also able to be used in mechanical application.
 
  VIVD 910

The Vivid 910 is a non-contact 3D digitizer that can scan any object and produce a 3D grid of points containing surface structure and color..  Light reflected from the workpiece is acquired by a CCD camera, and 3D data is then created by triangulation to determine distance information. The laser beam is scanned using a high-precision galvanometric mirror, and 640 x 480 individual points can be measured per scan.   This device can be used to scan devices for reverse engineering, stress analysis, facial imaging, and many other applications.

  ThermoVision A20M Infared Camera
 
Infared images can quickly highlight problems with a product that simply cannot be detected by any other sensor technology. Subtle temperature, moisture or material variations that can signal a problem stand out clearly in a thermal image.   The thermal detector technology delivers crisp, high-resolution longwave images that allow you to see variances as small as 0.12°C. Real-time image acquistion at standard video rates (60Hz) allows you to see rapid, thermally transient events.  This capability for a non-contact temperature measurement system allow for greater flexibility in the product design and testing process.

  The Phantom V5.1

The Phantom V5.1 is a high speed digital imaging system capable of capturing video at frame rates of up to 95,000 frames per second.  With a maximum resolution of over 1.0 mega pixel, it offers better resolution than standard video cameras.  These capabilities coupled with an extensive set of image analysis tools providing measurement, speed, and angular data that can reviewed on site immediately after the test.  This ability to capture extremely high speed event and review them within seconds allow for rapid adjustment and adaptation to products during the design and testing phases.

  Machine Shop and Electric Prototyping Capabilities  

MIND Studios also has a wide range of machining capabilites through our shop equipment including a desktop lathe, milling machine, band saw, foam cutter, and drill press.  In addition, we have an electrical prototyping station complete with various LabView Data acquisition cards, software, and other components. We anticipate having small level CNC capabilities added in the near future.

  Media and Presentation Capabilities
 
Once our projects are nearing completion we have the capability for professional level media generation with our photo studio.  The studio has several software packages and skills to produce high quality digital media presentations including the Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, and After Effects.
